10 New Years Goals That You Can Actually Achieve

With New Year upon us, it is time to make goals that we will only keep for the coming month and promptly forget about. Even if we do not forget our goals, we usually make goals that we have no hope of achieving (like giving up chocolate for me. Not going to happen.) After some brain storming, I have come up with ten goals that actually might be achievable in this coming year.

  1. Read full articles on the internet before jumping down to the comment sections to share your opinions.
  2. Not take anything from The Onion or other satire sites seriously. Before re-posting an “outrageous” article, check to see if it is from real news source.
  3. Avoid clicking on or sharing any click-bait articles. These are articles were the title of the article is something along the lines of: “This person did something, wait until you see what happened next!” Nobody needs these.
  4. Avoid talking politics on Facebook. Makes all of our lives better.
  5. Watch at least 5 movies from the AFI 10 Top 10 movies list. Here is the link. Watch more if you want.
  6. Read at least two novels from the Modern Library top 100 novels list. Here is the link: http://www.modernlibrary.com/top-100/100-best-novels/ . Preferably look at the left column, because the fact that the readers consider Atlas Shrugged the best novel ever really makes me question their tastes. Don’t read Atlas Shrugged.
  7. If you are over 20, stop reading young adult novels.
  8. Learn how to make one recipe really well.
  9. Say no to anything Michael Bay related. Start the boycott.
  10. Do not listen to anybody who says that you can just “decide” to be happy. And shockingly enough, you will actually be happier.
